    As an important platform to build Qingdao into the Sailing Capital in depth, Qingdao International Sailing Week will be held again from August 21st to 29th in Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center. Zang Aimin, deputy director of Qingdao International Sailing Week Organizing Committee, expressed in Beijing on the 12th that 2010 International Sailing Week would have more highlights and characteristics both in scale and content compared with the year 2009.

    Zang introduced that the main activities are “One Forum, Two Races, One Camp”in this year’s International Sailing Week, i.e., 2010 Olympic Sailing City Mayors and International Sailing Summit Forum, the 2nd Mayor’s Cup International Sailing Regatta(Dalian-Qingdao), Lushang Cup Qingdao International Regatta 2010, and International Junior OP Class Sailing Camp and International Junior OP Sailing Class Regatta, etc.

    It is reported that Qingdao International Sailing Week is brought again into the Beijing 2010 Olympic Cultural Festival, which will help to promote the cooperation and exchange between Qingdao and Beijing in carrying forward the Olympic spirit and other fields. Meanwhile, it also helps to build a platform for cooperation and development in the international sailing world. The summit forum will help to strengthen the exchanges with the international sailing world and improve the reputation of Qingdao in the international sailing world.

    In the aspect of race scale, Qingdao bought 10 Beneteau First 40s with the money donated by the society for the International Regatta 2010 (Dalian-Qingdao). Besides the endurance race, there is also the course race, with two set classes, the One Design and the Open, which can enhance the event to meet the international standard. Qingdao will also cooperate with ISAF OP Class Association for the first time to host International Junior Sailing training Camp, which will be the largest camp ever. Qingdao will make full use of the network and event-organizing experience to cultivate and build the famous brand of International Junior Sailing Sports.

    In addition, there will be a sailing culture exhibition in the Olympic Sailing Museum called “Charming Impression of Qingdao -Olympic Sailing Theme Museum Activity. There are also many other activities such as sailing experience, sailing knowledge popularization, large-scale sea cruising, international Golf Invitational Match, etc.
