The 3rd Qingdao International Sailing Week unveiled in Olympic Sailing Center. Member of the Standing Committee of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, and Secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, Mr. Li Qun announced the opening of 3rd Qingdao International Sailing Week.

    President of China Yachting Association, Mr. Wang Jun, president of the International Sailing Federation, Mr. Göran Petersson, representative of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Deco Stile, president of the International Sailing Federation Racing Rules Committee, Mr. Patrick Linquist, Vice Mayor of Barcelona, Ms. Vila, Vice-President of the European Sailing Federation, Mr. Kjell Borking, Secretary-General of the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, Mr. Wu Jingmi, the director of the State Oceanic Administration, Beihai Branch Bureau, Mr. Fang Jianmeng, Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China, Ministry of Youth, Mr. Guo Jianjun, deputy director of the Water Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, Mr. Li Quanhai, Deputy Chief of Staff of the North China Sea Fleet, Mr. Yang Junfei attended the opening ceremony.

    Member of the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and president of the Organizing Committee of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, Ms. Zang Aimin read the congratulatory letter from Jacques Rogge, president of IOC.

    Member of the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor of Qingdao, Mr. Wang Shujian and Mr. Göran Petersson addressed the opening ceremony.

    First of all, Mr. Wang Shujian extended the warm welcome to all guests on behalf of Qingdao Municipal Government and 8.5 million Qingdao citizens. He said, “Three years ago, exciting Olympic Sailing Competitions were held in this place, and Olympic, sailing and this city were tied together from then on. Today, we gather here in the same place to enjoy the same happiness of one world one dream. Sailing is what Olympic Games gives Qingdao. Qingdao International Sailing Week is an important event for Qingdao to build a city of sailing. We sincerely are expecting more friends all over the world to take part in all events and enjoy the happy time of sailing.” Mr. Göran Petersson said that Qingdao had made many efforts in holding world class sailing events. Qingdao International Sailing Week had become an important platform for each country to exchange and communication. He believed that Qingdao International Sailing Week would be a brand of Qingdao.

    Member of the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, secretary-general Mr. Wang Luming, deputy director of Qingdao Municipal People’s Congress, Mr. Xu Hang, Vice mayor Wang Xiulin, vice-chairman of Qingdao Municipal CPPCC, Mr. Song Jingyi, and the representatives from Korea, Japan, Germany, France, Australia, Russia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Lianyungang, Beihai, Weihai, Rizhao, Haikou, Sanya, Yantai attended the opening ceremony.

    A grand show was held after the opening ceremony.

    The organizing committee held the welcoming banquet for the guests of Qingdao International Sailing Week. Mr. Li Qun, Mr. Wang Jun and Mr. Göran Petersson attended the banquet.
