Dialogue of international celebrities of sailing for the sustainable development of Olympic sailing cities

    The Blue Sailing, Fashion Leading Celebrity Dialogue of the 3^rdQingdao International Sailing Week was held in Shangri-la hotel. The president of Chinese Yachting Association, Mr. Wang Jun, member of the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and president of the Organizing Committee of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, Ms. Zang Aimin made speech in the event.

    President of the International Sailing Federation, Mr. Göran Petersson, deputy director of the Water Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, Mr. Li Quanhai, vice-President of the European Sailing Federation, Mr. Kjell Borking, Vice Mayor, Mr. Wang Xiulin, Vice Mayor of Barcelona, Ms. Vila, the Minister of the Market Department of Kiel City Hall ofGermany, Mr. Uwe Vange, representative of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Deco Stile also made their speech.

    Mr. Wang Jun said, “This dialogue is an opportunity for sailing cities to exchange and communicate. After holding the Olympic Sailing Competitions, Qingdao committed to build a city of sailing and hold Volvo Ocean Race, Clipper Round the World, Extreme Series, which promoted the popularity of sailing in China. Qingdao had fulfilled the promise to the International Sailing Federation.”

    Zang Aimin said, ”In this dialogue, we are talking about the meaning of sailing to the city and we are looking forward to your speech and suggestion. I expect more wisdom in the exchange. I also expect we could promote development of the city led by sailing and spirit of sports.”

    Through speech and dialogue, the guests gave their opinion on environmental issues, marine economy and city construction. They studied the sustainable development of Olympic sailing cities and the trend of international sailing sports. They also discussed on the international cooperation, diversity of culture, economic development, science and technology and humanism.
