The last act in Singapore was a real step forward for the SAP Extreme Sailing Team, coming away with our first podium position and upgrade to fourth overall on the series leader board was thrilling. However no one is safe, we're still hungry and preparation for Act 3 in Qingdao started the minute we left Marina Bay. We're looking forward to returning to China’s ‘Sailing City’ Qingdao and, having hosted the Olympics in 2008, the sailing centre in Fushan Bay has a rich history and passion for our sport. We raced here for the first time last year so we're familiar with the conditions we are likely to encounter over the four days. In contrast to the past two Acts, we should have fairly consistent winds and have reviewed our racing strategy in line with this. Our practice sessions ahead of formal racing will enable us to make the necessary adjustments and our aim is to get back out onto the race course with the same level of cool and confidence we felt coming off the water in Singapore.

We just need to add some decent breeze to that scene and spectators along the shoreline of Fushan Bay can look forward to some serious competition on the water next week. |
