The 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup kicked off in Qingdao in eastern Shandong province. There will be over 300 athletes from 37 countries and regions participating in the event held from Sept 14 to 20.
It is the third time for the city to host the international event. As the point race for the Olympic Games to be held in Rio, Brazil in 2016, the 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup will be an opportunity for the world sailors to qualify for the Rio Olympics.
The seven-day long competition includes 10 races, same to what is going to be in Rio Olympics. The registration had ended on Sept 11 itself and received a total of 191 sailboats (sailboards) to enter the competition.
