The 2015 China ·Qingdao Ocean International Summit Forum was held on October 30th. A total of over 300 guests including experts from over 10 countries and international organizations and the principals of related state ministries and commissions, gathered together to discuss the role played by marine science and technology in the construction of “the 21st century marine silk road”.
Themed with “Science and Technology Boosting Marine Silk Road”, the forum is divided into 5 sub-forums named “New Silk Road, New Journey —— Co-construct Marine Silk Road”, “New Industry. New Opportunity —— Marine Industrial Technology Innovation and Financial Services”, “New Space, New Development —— Prospects and Application of Deep and Far Sea Technology”, “New Demand, New Task ——Closed Gate Meeting on Significant Marine Technology Task” and “New Trend, New Strategy——Discussion and Comment on Cutting-edge Marine Science and Technology”.
On the same day, the hosts including the Xinhua (Qingdao) Marine News Center, National Marine Information Center and National Financial Center Index Institute jointly issued 2015 Chinese marine development index, which is used to monitor and assess the general development level of Chinese marine economy and marine causes and boost the national strategy of empowering the nation with marine economy.
