Sailing on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road", an event to promote Qingdao's image as China's main sailing city, has completed half of its voyage as its super trimaran Qingdao China called at the Gateway of India, a landmark of India's western harbor city of Mumbai, on Nov 23.

Mumbai is the sixth port of call for the super trimaran, which departed from its home harbor Qingdao on Oct 21 to travel across eight cities in Asia, Africa and Europe to reach its final destination, Monaco.

The crew and event organizers received warm welcome from local residents in Mumbai. The Qingdao delegation held a series of activities to promote the sailing sports, Chinese tea culture and some Qingdao enterprises in the city. Chen Jingzi, vice-chairman of Qingdao Yachting Association, gave a model super trimaran model to a local yacht club as a gift.

Qingdao China left Mumbai on Nov 25 and is now on its way to its next port of call, Alexandria in Egypt.
