The Clipper 2015-16 Round the World Yacht Race has departed De Nang, Vietnam to start Race 8 to China in The Sailing City • Qingdao Cup.
2月27日，克利伯2015-16赛季环球帆船赛已经从越南岘港出发，开始了驶往中国青岛的赛程8“帆船之都• 青岛”杯比赛。
The Clipper Race fleet has already travelled over 23,000 nautical miles in the 40,000nM global series which forms the world’s longest ocean race.
本赛季截止目前，克利伯帆船赛已经航行了超过23,000海里，环球总航程是40，000海里，是世界上航程最长的环球航海赛事。
Race 8 from Da Nang, Vietnam to Qingdao, China is approximately 1700 nM, but given the weather, tide and sea state conditions that lie in wait, the teams could end up recording a much higher mileage as they tack their way upwind and zig-zag their way against head winds and challenging currents.
越南岘港至中国青岛的赛程8比赛航程约为1700海里，但是考虑到本段比赛过程中途经海域的天气、潮汐、海况等因素，克利伯船队将会面临巨大的挑战，预测出现的逆风情况会让船队实际航行的距离超过既定航程，而且很有还将会受到洋流的影响。
This race has particular significance to accomplished Qingdao Skipper Bob Beggs (55) and his team, who are looking forward to racing to their home port. Bob says: “I have never been to China before and I cannot think of a better way to arrive than sailing into Qingdao, celebrated for its role in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, on board a Qingdao sponsored yacht with crew members from the city. This is the race that we are most excited about as a crew and we are going out to win it. We have a strong team who are determined to do the city and themselves proud.”

The Sailing City • Qingdao Cup has the potential to be the most challenging of the 14-race Sir Robin Knox-Johnston explains: “This is going to be a bash. You go up north of here and level with Taiwan and you’ll be getting waves without anything behind them so the boat slams down.
“That’s when you get winds and tides working against each other, but the winds tend to come from the north, right across northern Russia and Mongolia so they are very, very cold. There will be sleet and snow, crew really do need all the warm clothing they can find.”
“帆船之都• 青岛”杯比赛有可能是本赛季14个赛程中最为艰难的一段比赛，全程大部分时间，船队将遭遇逆风，克利伯帆船赛创始人和赛组委主席罗宾爵士赛前解释说到：“这段比赛无疑会是一场恶战，船队将北上途经台湾海域，大风大浪将会是常有的事，帆船颠簸的会很厉害，逆风和潮汐夹杂在一起就是这个效果，寒冷刺骨的北风主要是来自于俄罗斯和蒙古方向，途中还可能会遭遇雨雪天气，船员们需要备好温暖的衣物防寒。”
Aboard the Qingdao yacht are two Chinese sailors who have been given the opportunity to sail a leg in the Clipper Race by the city of Qingdao. Ambassadors Sean xxxxxxx and Melody xxxxxxx joined the leg to Qingdao in Airlie Beach, Australia, which consists of two races via Da Nang, Vietnam.
本赛段代表中国青岛在青岛号大帆船上参加比赛的有两名船员，他们分别是王祥胜和刘明玥，这两位中国籍船员是在澳洲的艾尔利滩参赛出发的，本赛段包含了2个赛程，途经越南岘港中转。赛前两位中国船员接受了采访，船员王祥胜说到：“感觉挺激动的，想到快要回家了，内心澎湃，不多言语了，我们一定全力以赴的”，船员刘明玥也进行了补充：“我感到十分激动，特别是对于我和祥胜，我俩都是来自青岛的本土船员，这次比赛就相当于回家之旅，相信家乡的人们也正在准备精彩的活动迎接我们回家，真的很期待；整个赛队的气势都很强，我们力争要拿下这场比赛，因为我们是青岛号，我们一定会全力以赴！”
With the fleet due to arrive in Qingdao from around 10-13 March, the city sent the following message to their team and the Clipper Race crew as a whole:
船队预计将于3月10日至13日期间抵达目的地青岛，主办港城市青岛方面也特意为青岛号赛队和克利伯船队发来了欢迎信息：
“We’re very proud that The Sailing City • Qingdao Cup is the first time that Qingdao is naming a race from an internationally renowned racing event.
“During the upcoming Qingdao stopover, to welcome and treat our Clipper Race ocean warriors, we will host a number of exciting events including special welcome ceremonies for each team, a first-class prize-giving ceremony, a local school visit and cultural tours. We have even organized a football tournament that crew can partake in along with Clipper Race staff. By participating in these events and activities, you’ll be able to experience some of the genuine Chinese culture, traditions and local folkways. We would also like to encourage and welcome all Clipper Race crew to capture exciting and memorable moments during the Qingdao stopover by either taking photos, or composing short text stories to share these with us, which will certainly help the world get to know Qingdao from a diverse perspective.

The host of the sailing events in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is famed for its spectacular welcome for the Clipper Race fleet which is well rehearsed by the longest standing Team Sponsor and Host Port. This is the Clipper Race’s sixth visit to Qingdao where the current fleet of matched 70 foot ocean racing yachts was built.
曾经是2008年奥运会帆船项目主办城市，同时也是克利伯帆船赛时间最为长久的赛事和主办港合作伙伴，青岛站精彩热烈、独居特色的欢迎仪式令人印象深刻。这也将是克利伯帆船赛第六次登录青岛，比赛中使用的12艘大帆船也正是在青岛制造生产的。
Qingdao has been performing well in the tenth edition of the biennial Clipper Race, having finished on the podium twice and is currently in sixth place on the overall leader board. With seven races to go and over a hundred points still available to win, there is every opportunity for Qingdao to improve its ranking even further.
青岛号赛队在本赛季克利伯帆船赛中的表现不俗，两次进入了赛程前三，目前总积分榜排名第六，本赛季仍然有7个赛程需要完成，可以获得的积分奖励也是不少，青岛号赛队提升的机会和空间还很大，相信他们会在后半程比赛中的表现会更加抢眼。
The Clipper 2015-16 Race left London on 30 August 2015 and will finish back in the British capital on 30 July this year after 11 months racing between six continents. The twelve teams of competently trained amateur sailors compete in identical boats under the command of experienced professional skippers. It is the only race of its type in the world.
克利伯2015-16赛季环球帆船赛是2015年8月30日从伦敦起航出发，将于2016年7月30日返回伦敦凯旋，比赛历时11个月，航程途经六大洲。十二支参赛队全部是由经过赛前专业培训的业余选手参赛组成，由十二名职业航海船长带队参加比赛，该赛事是世界范围内非职业环球航海赛事第一例。
