On September10th, local time, Zhang Xiaodong, Chairman of China Yachting and Windsurfing Association, participated in the20th"Far East Cup" International Sailing Rally in Russia in Vladivostok, executive deputy of Qingdao Olympic Sports Development Association President, Ai Aimin, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Qingdao Major International Sailing Competition (Festival), Secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Sports Bureau and Secretary General of Qingdao Major International Sailing Competition (Festival) Organizing Committee met with the International Maritime Training Association CEO Gwen Brown, Mike Bowers, director of the2018 Far East Stilt Project. The two sides exchanged views and reached a positive consensus on the possibility of setting up a stop in Qingdao in the2020 Far East Stilt Race.

Stilt sailing, as its name suggests, is an antique sailing ship with a high mast. The route of the2018 Far East Stilt Race is Vladivostok to Lishui, Korea, attracting six antique sailing ships from Russia, Japan, South Korea and Indonesia, including four consecutive years of visiting the Olympic Sailing Center for Qingdao. The International Maritime Training Association, which is responsible for operating the Far East Stilt, is headquartered in Gosport, England. It is understood that as early as1956, the International Sailing Training Association began to organize high-altitude sailing regattas in Europe. In recent years, the association has begun to try to promote this highly entertaining event in a wider area, and the establishment of the Far East Stilt is an important measure. The International Maritime Training Association hopes that the2020 Far East Stilt Race will set up a port of call in China, Japan, South Korea and Russia to further expand the popularity and reputation of the event.

On September11th, the six regattas participating in the2018"Far East Cup" International Regatta will compete with the six regattas participating in the2018 Far East Sail Regatta in Vladivostok.
