The first MENGXIANGDUO China Family Sailing Competition started its first game in Huiquan bay, Qingdao on6_th October. This is the first family unit National Sailing Competition in China. After Tianjin station and Jinzhou station, Qingdao station would be third station and30 families took part in the competition and share the enioyment of sailing sports with family members.

After the opening ceremony speech, Fu Danqing, the significant sailing competitions committee Deputy Director and the Deputy director of Olympic Promotion Committee Zang Aimin and Deputy General of China Sailing Sport Committee Fu Danqing talked about the significance of the Family Sailing Competition’s introduce to China.

From2008 to2018, Qingdao surprised the world with new look by the changes from“sailing city” to“SCO summit city”. On the SCO Qingdao summit in June, National General Secretary Xi Jinping introduced Qingdao to the world ceremoniously that Qingdao is famous for the name“the sailing city”, and many boats set sail here to chase their dreams.” Sailing sport is the gorgeous identity as well as the important leisure and fitness industry to Qingdao. When promoting development of sailing industry, the relative departments not only make an effort to fostering citizens’ love of sailing, they also show the true enjoyment and charming of sailing sport to the mass. In recent years, the departments concerned have been held numerous activities such as“teenagers sailing to the campus”, and until now there are more than200 children are qualified as the first class sailing boat athlete in more than a hundred sailing sport schools.“I really hope that the new type of sailing sport like family sailing can attract more families and citizens to have a special sailing experience and fire with enthusiasm for sailing. Those citizens who show great enthusiasm for sailing would be the mass base of building the city of sailing.

As a great brand, China Family Sailing Competition was coordinated, designed and held by many departments, which is aimed to promoting the healthy sailing sport and make sure that the citizens can take part in those series activities without any doubts. After being held by Tianjin and Jinzhou, the series of competitions are wildly welcomed by normal citizens and sailing fans. The host cities’ ocean areas are becoming more attractive after those races. There are so many sailing fans and professional yachtsmen in Qingdao, and China Family Sailing Competition would provide more sailing opportunities shared with their family members for those people.

China Family Sailing Competition have attracted numerous families from Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming and Qingdao, some of them are novices and some are professional yachtsmen and sailing fanciers. The participants come from all region and cities in China, and their members are from a wide range of ages. The race provide those participants with opportunities of having fun with their family members.

After the yesterday’s competition, the competitors had a better insight of sailing operation, the speed of water and winds. They had a better cooperation with each other and their ability of sailing was getting better and better. Therefore, the competitions increased another round (from2 to3 rounds) in the last race day. All families give the priority to safety and friendship and payed more attention on participating and communicating. They learnt from each other by competing and exchanging views, at the same time, they got a good view of the beautiful scenery. What a wonderful experience!

Zhong Junting, a14 years old girl who finished the examination of American Sailing Association last week, participating the China Family Sailing Competition with her father during the National holidays. The shy little girl hide from our camera at the first time, but when talking about the enthusiasm about sailing, her eyes gleamed with uncontrolled excitement. As a local girl of Qingdao city, the love of ocean and desire of freedom flowed in her blood, she seemed to have a indissoluble bond with sailing. She told us that sailing with her peers in the sailing club during vacations would release the stress from intense study life.“Sailing on the ocean taught me how to come over the difficulties of growing up and see my life and studies in a new light.” She told us with a happy face. Her father is also proud of her. Although being accompanied with daughter all the time and always being approve of her sailing dream, this is the first time for Mr. Zhong to participate in competition with his daughter. China Family Sailing Competition has provided a great chance for Mr. Zhong to learn more about his daughter’s world and spend a quality time with her by sailing. They both learn a lot from this experience.

After2 days of intense competitions, Song Kun family team got the champion of Getaway group and Wang Haibin family team won the champion of T2. Besides, China Family Sailing Competition Committee have designed some special prize such as“The Bravest Sailor” and“The Best Cooperation”, which made the game more attractive and enjoyable.
