The annual meeting of World Sailing was held in Sarasota, Florida State, USA. The originator of‘Far West’ and the general manager of Qingdao silk road sailing competition management limited company, Gao Jun,who has represented‘Far West’ International Sailing Race and won the best organization award in forth Eastern Economic Forum, took part in this annual meeting.

According to Mr. Gao Jun, the champion of Volvo Ocean Race during2017-2018--- China West Wind Team won a lot of prizes in this annual meeting of World Sailing. They not only won the best team, but two members of this team---Caroline Blair and from Holland and Mary Rieu from France shared the Best Female Sailor of the Year.

What’s more, China West Wind Team and Qingdao Autonomous Brand Competition"Far East" has a deep connection from a long time ago. In the third‘Far West’ competition in2018, the French Navigator Charles Caudrelier led the West Wind Team and represent the Qingdao No.2 Middle School · Tsinghua University Team joined the game. Liu Xue, who is a local boy in Qingdao and took part in Volvo Global Sailing Race for two years in a row, is also Charles Caudrelier’s friend. The outstanding girl, Mary Rieu, entered for the third‘Far West’ competition  from Vladivostok to Qingdao, but Tsinghua University team has no choice but to quit race due to vessel failure from Qingdao to Vladivostok, and Mary Rieu had to drop out of the exciting game regrettably.

In this year, numbers of top seafaring experts who had won lots of international prizes throughout the world played in the third‘Far West’ competition. It can also shows the International visibility and influence of this excellent race. But the failures they met in this game also caused a lot of sensation in sailing field.

From now on, the community of"Far East" has opened up a Tsingtao route to and from Vladivostok, which was involved in Sports Activities Section of the Fourth Oriental Economic Forum and has effectively promoted cultural exchange and the connection between China, South Korea, Russia and other countries. According to Mr. Gao Jun, the race will be further expanded and upgraded. The organizing committee make an effort to set more stations in China, Japan, South Korea and Russia and the fleet will be scaled up accordingly with larger and faster vessels.

“High mast sailing race may be introduced in Qingdao in2020. In2018,"Far East"has met the High mast sailing race for the first time in Vladivostok, and the teams from both events left Vladivostok at the same time. The sailing boats in High mast sailing race are antique sailing boats whose length are about100 meters, including‘Parada’ which has been came to Qingdao for four consecutive years.
