Qingdao was listed among the top 10 cities in China for business environment according to an announcement at a forum held on Nov 1 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province.

The ranking was based on 69,120 responses in a survey conducted by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce from August to October this year.

According to the survey results, the top 10 provinces (municipalities) for doing business are Zhejiang, Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, Beijing, Sichuan, Hunan, Henan and Fujian. The top 10 cities for doing business are Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Qingdao, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Changsha and Chengdu.

Qingdao has always attached great importance to optimizing its business environment and has done so by strengthening the construction of a market-oriented, law-based and international business environment.

In the first half of this year, the city added 178 key projects, each of which represents an investment of more than 500 million yuan ($78.2 million). Among them, 100 projects have been put into operation. In addition, there were 159,000 new market players in the city and private investment increased by 17.1 percent year-on-year during this period.
