The eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province plans to build 50 fitness venues this year, as part of the city's efforts to build a higher-level public service system for fitness and physical activity, according to local officials.

To promote public participation and access to relevant facilities, the city will increase the supply of basic services geared toward public fitness and sports. According to an official from the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Sports, the goal is to improve people's fitness, satisfy their desires for a better life, and promote well-rounded human development.

The locations for the 50 new fitness venues have been selected, and they will be dispersed throughout the city. Sports parks, fitness trails, outdoor fitness facilities, children's parks, and other venues will be built to suit the fitness needs of citizens of all ages, taking into account local conditions.
According to local officials, Qingdao will increase efforts to develop and implement fitness plans, disseminate scientific fitness information and methodologies, facilitate the expansion of the sports industry, and cultivate a vibrant sports culture.
