It was put forward at the 13th CPC Qingdao Congress that in the next five years, Qingdao will firmly stickto the overall goal of "building a socialist modern international metropolis in the new era", step up theefforts to realize the two visions of making Qingdao a vibrant ocean city and a livable and lovable city,and strive for new breakthroughs in enhancing comprehensive development competitiveness, elevating the level of internationalization, thus making Qingdao a people's city.

The "vibrant ocean city" embodies the greatest feature and advantage of the city — ocean resources, and the "livable and lovable city" depictsa picture of people’s well-being and contentment. They not only illustrate Qingdao's unique charm and quality, butalso make a visual and deeper interpretation of a socialist modern international metropolis in the new era.
