The 15th City Club International Sailing Regatta (CCOR) Returns to Qingdao as Spring ArrivesFrom April 27 to May 1, the 15th edition of the City Club International Sailing Regatta (CCOR) will set sail in Qingdao’s Fushan Bay, welcoming 34 teams and 206 sailors from cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Liuzhou, Hong Kong (China), as well as international participants from the U.S., Singapore, Ireland, and more. Under the theme"Azure & Coexistence," this year’s event continues to blend elite competition with the cultural charm of the host city. With participants already arriving, the regatta is poised to begin.
Since its inception in 2010, CCOR has adhered to international standards, earning acclaim for its professionalism and becoming one of China’s most prestigious homegrown sailing events. Loyal fan-favorite teams return annually to Qingdao each spring. This year’s competition will feature two keelboat classes, FE28R and J80, attracting top-tier sailors such as Olympic champion Xu Lijia and Jim Johnstone, a world champion and former member of the U.S. national team. Their participation elevates the competition while offering invaluable learning opportunities for fellow sailors.
The lineup includes standout teams like Ternus Sailing Team (Harmony Family) and Little Soft Sailing Team, alongside eight university teams, including the seasoned Xiamen City Vocational College Sailing Team. Notably, the Liuzhou Luosifen Team (named after Liuzhou’s iconic spicy noodle dish) from the Liuzhou Sailing Association promises both flair and skill.
The final race day coincides with May Day holiday, ensuring a spectacular blend of sailing action and festive celebrations for locals and visitors alike.
