2 Major Activities

(1) The Olympic Sailing City Mayors and International Sailing Summit Forum 2010

Date: 21st – 23rd August 2010

Venue: Qingdao

To carry on the Olympic idea, expand international vision, build an exchange platform, and seek for cooperation and development.

The core theme of the forum is to discuss the issue of sustainable development of Olympic Sailing Cities and study the developing trend of international sailing.

The basic style is precise viewpoint combined with relaxed discussion, creating an open, and compatible, academic atmosphere, to make the dialogue a success in the world sailing sport circle and further develop into an international grand gathering which could advance the development of the sailing sport.

(2). "Mayor's Cup" Shengli Co., Ltd International Regatta 2010(Dalian-Qingdao)

City of Olympic Sailing –Charming Qingdao Impression—Olympic Sailing Center Theme Activity

On the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the opening of the first Olympic Sailing Museum worldwide, guests from home and abroad participating in the 2010 Qingdao International Sailing Week and the Forum will be invited to display their cultural documents of the Olympic Sailing Competitions, international sailing festivals and other sailing events; to hold ‘City of Olympic Sailing-Charming Qingdao Impression’ activities; fully demonstrate the city’s charm as the Capital of Sailing in China.

Excellent Works from Previous Olympic Sailing Events and International Sailing Festival Expo

Expo of Excellent Works from Previous Olympic Sailing Competitions and International Sailing Festivals. A sailing culture exhibition room will be set up in the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Museum, and the collections will be enriched year on year.

The concert will be performed on the award ceremony platform of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Sailing Competition with different music genres, such as pop, classical and rock music. Famous musicians from all over the world will be invited and perform there.

Qingdao International Beer Festival and Qingdao International Sailing Week attend the World Exposition of Shanghai and welcome the guests

Qingdao International Beer Festival and Qingdao International Sailing Week will join the World Exposition of Shanghai, inviting guests there to Qingdao-the Capital of Sailing in August, to experience every classic program held by Qingdao International Beer Festival and Qingdao International Sailing Week, and enter the carnival of beer world; to feel the passion and romance of the yacht cruise and experience the fun of viewing Qingdao on the sea.

The 1st session of Qingdao International Sailing Week Cultural Gourmet Festival will demonstrate Qingdao special snacks and China northern seafood. Tourists at home and abroad will fully enjoy the travel traditions of Qingdao summertime such as sailing, drinking beer, eating seafood and climbing Mountain Lao.

At the last weekend of Qingdao International Sailing Week, a 100-foot yacht will pilot hundreds of boats, yachts, and motor boats from the Olympic Sailing Center, Fushun Bay, along the front sea to demonstrate the charm of the “Capital of Sailing”with a grand scene of a thousand yachts setting sail.

During the Sailing Week, we will hold beach rugby, bowling, soccer, chess, and golf events to demonstrate Qingdao sporting features as an open city and enrich the activities of the Sailing Week.

Founded in 2003, China International Sailing Expo, the only specialized expo themed with navigation, attracts quite a few big boat manufacturers from Europe to Qingdao. After years of development, the Expo has become the city card of displaying the ocean characteristics of Qingdao and plays an increasingly prominent role in driving economic development.

Collecting Logos, Mascots and Touring Souvenirs of 2010 Qingdao International Sailing Week

Collect logos, posters, mascots and other culture works of the 2010 Qingdao International Sailing Week and the Olympic Sailing City Mayors & International Sailing Summit Forum 2010, develop exclusive travel souvenirs for International Sailing Week and set up a travel souvenir specialty store.

Qingdao Toasts with the World –the 20th Qingdao International Beer Festival (14th—29th August 2010)

Qingdao International Beer Festival is known as the largest beer feast in the orient. The Festival attracts almost 50 world-renowned beer brands every year, and over three million tourists at home and abroad together to enjoy the great pleasure. Guests from Qingdao International Sailing Week will be invited by the 20th Qingdao International Beer Festival and enjoy a free entrance into the Beer City to drink beers from all over the world, take part in all kinds of celebrating activities like beer contests and art parades and feel the unique passion and charm.
